Pearl Harbor
Nate, Quinn, Grandpa Oram, Cody, & Ben went to Pearl Harbor. They visited all the sights. Quinn was especially fascinated by the conning towers in the submarines
. If any kids came in, he would tel l them that he was the captain. He saw the list of names of individuals who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. "What a solemn pride you must feel to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom."

Kole Kole Pass
Today we went to the top of Kole Kole pass. It is a beautiful mountain that sits on the army base. You have to have military access to drive to the top. It was a beautiful lookout point over old desserted navy
grounds and the ocean. We could hear the military firing rounds behind us and on our way back down the mountain a wild boar ran out to the road. Ben also drove Quinn around to see the military trucks.

I ran with my brother-in-law's battalion at 5 am this morning. It was a holiday family run. If family showed up they didnt have to run as far. I thought this is the least I could do to support the troops. I even kept pace until the last 3 blocks and then nearly hurled my breakfast
. I even chanted along and tried to keep my left foot left. We rounded a corner and as far as I could see came an entire brigade of runners....there were so many......it was kind of humbling. All those men preparing early every morning to defend our country as we slumber. Thanks Ben for letting me tag along.
